Something to share .. .. a sad letter *Sobs*
Once, there lived a child. He lived in a happy family, with parents and siblings. However, he never stopped to think about how wonderful his life had been. He just kept on playing, squabbling with his siblings when they did not want to play what he wanted to play. However, when he wanted to apologize, he always said, "Never mind, there's tomorrow." When he grew up a little, school was a very niceplace for him. He learned, made friends, and was very happy. However, he never thought at this was happiness to him. It all came so naturally that he felt it should become part of his life. One day, he had a great fight with his best friend. Though he knew he was in the wrong, he never took the initiative to apologize or made up with his best friend. His excuse was, "Never mind, I'll do it tomorrow."When he grew up yet some more, that best friend was no longer part of his. Even though he still sees his friend around, but they don't even greet eachother. But that was all right, because he still had other friends. He and his friends did almost everything together, eating, playing, doing things, and fooling around. Yes, they were another bunch of very good friends. When he graduated, work kept him very busy. He's found himself a very pretty and virtuous girlfriend and she soon became his constant companion. He made himself busy with work, because he wanted to get promoted to the highest position with the shortest time possible. Sure, he missed his good friends. He missed them a lot. But he never got down to keep in touch with them, not even a telephone call. He always said, "Boy, I'm so tired,I'll catch up with them tomorrow." It didn't affect him at all because he could find colleagues who are always willing to go pubing with him. Thus, as time passes by, he's forgotten to call his friends. After he's got married with kids, he works even harder in order to bring comfort to his family. He never buys flowers for his wife anymore, nor does he remember his wife's birthdays and wedding anniversary. It was all right because his wife always understood him, and never blamed him. Ofcourse, he felt guilty at times and wanted very much to have a chance to say to his wife " I love you", but he never got down to doing it. His excuse was "never mind, I'll do it tomorrow for sure". He never made it to his children's birthdayparties, but this time he did not knew how it would affect the children. The children began to drift away from him, as they never really spent time with their father. One day, disaster struck when his wife was killed in an accident. It was a hit and run accident. But on that day, he was in the middle of a meeting. Failing to understand that it is a fatal accident, he arrived by his wife's deathbed only to see her on the verge of death. Before he could mouth out the words "I love you", his wife already passed away. The man became despondent and tried to find solace in his children after his wife's death. However, he soon realized that the children do not even try to communicate with him. Soon, his children have grown up and found their own families.Nobody cared for this old man who in the past hadn't spared his time for them. He moved into the best Old Folk's Home, which provides excellent service with the money he has saved for he and his wife's 50th, 60th, and 70th anniversary celebrations. All the money intended to go to Hawaii, New Zealand, and other countries went into the fund that pays for his stay in the home. From that time until his deathbed, there were only old folks and nurses taking care of him. He now felt the loneliness that he did not feel before. Upon his deathbed, he called a nurse in and said to her, "Ah. If only I had realized this earlier. .? And died with tears upon his cheek. What I am trying to tell you is time never stops. You go on and on, and before you realized it, you've already gone very far. If you had quarrelled, make up quickly! If you feel you need to hear your friend's voice, don't hesitate to pick up the phone. If there are many dreams that you wish to fulfill, fulfill them as soon as possible. Lastly, but most importantly, if you feel you need to tell somebody that you care, don't wait until it is too late. If you keep thinking you will do that another day, then that day will never come. If you always think that tomorrow will come, then tomorrow' will run out quickly and you'll realize the time that you've left behind you.
P/S Which is why I have chosen to forward it now and share it with you, instead of waiting for tomorrow... "Where there is love there is life" "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" "Good friends are like stars... You do not always see them, but you know they are always there"

InstaLL lOve-have u done it?
Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready to install it now. What do I do first?
Tech Support: The first step is to open your HEART. Have you located your HEART, ma'am?
Customer: Yes, I have, but there are several other programs running right now. Is it okay to install while they are running?
Tech Support: What programs are running, ma'am?
Customer: Let's see... I have PAST-HURT.EXE, LOW-ESTEEM.EXE, GRUDGE.EXE, and RESENTMENT.COM running now.
Tech Support: No problem. LOVE will gradually erase PAST-HURT.EXE from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. LOVE will eventually overwrite LOW-ESTEEM.EXE with a module of its own called HIGH-ESTEEM.EXE. However, you have to completely turn off GRUDGE.EXE and RESENTMENT.COM. Those programs prevent LOVE from being properly installed. Can you turn those off, ma'am?
Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
Tech Support: My pleasure. Go to your Start menu and invoke FORGIVENESS.EXE. Do this as many times as necessary until it's erased the programs you don't want.
Customer: Okay, now LOVE has started installing itself automatically. Is that normal?
Tech Support: Yes. You should receive a message that says it will reinstall for the life of your HEART. Do you see that message?
Customer: Yes, I do. Is it completely installed?
Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other HEARTs in order to get the upgrades.
Customer: So what should I do?
Tech Support: Can you pull down the directory called "SELF-ACCEPTANCE"?
Customer: Yes, I have it.
Tech Support: Excellent. You're getting good at this. Now, click on the following files and then copy them to the "MYHEART" directory: FORGIVE-SELF.DOC, REALIZE-WORTH.TXT, and ACKNOWLEDGE-LIMITATIONS.DOC. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching any faulty programming. Also, you need to delete SELF-CRITIC.EXE from all directories, and then empty your recycle bin afterwards to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.
Customer: Got it. Hey! My HEART is filling up with new files. SMILE.MPG is playing on my monitor right now and it shows that PEACE.EXE, and CONTENTMENT.COM are copying themselves all over my HEART. Is this normal?
Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes a while, but eventually everything gets downloaded at the proper time. So, LOVE is installed and running. You should be able to handle it from here. Ah, one more thing.
Customer: Yes?
Tech Support: LOVE is freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everybody you meet. They will in turn share it with other people and they will return some similarly cool modules back to you.
Customer: I will! Thanks for your help!

Chance...or Choice?
Chance...or Choice?
When we meet the right person to love when we're at the right place at the
right time. That's chance. When you meet someone you're attracted to, that's
not a choice. That's chance. Being caught up in a moment (and there's a lot
of couples who get together because of this) is not a choice. That's also a
chance.
The difference is what happens afterward. When will you take that
infatuation, that crush, that mind-blowing attraction to the next level?
That's when all sanity goes back, you sit down and contemplate whether you
want to make this into a concrete relationship or just a fling.
If you decide to love a person, even with his faults, that's not a chance.
That's choice. When you choose to be with a person, no matter what, that's
choice. Even if you know there are many people out there who are more
attractive, smarter, and richer than your mate, and yet, you decide to love
your mate just the same, that's choice.
Infatuation, crushes, attraction comes to us by chance. But true love that
lasts is truly a choice. A choice that we make.
Regarding soulmates, there's a beautiful movie quote that I believe is so
true about this: "Fate brings you together, but it's still up to you to make
it happen."
I do believe that soulmates do exist. That there is truly someone made for
you. But it's still up to you to make the choice if you're going to do
something about it or not. We may meet our soulmates by chance, but loving
and staying with our soulmate is still a choice we have to make.

By Mark Goulston, M.D.
Happy couples know that the real relationship begins
when the honeymoon is over. They know that unless you
maintain the garden of love, its beauty will wither
and die. In a recent column, you discovered the 10
relationship mistakes to avoid. Now discover the 10
things that happy couples do:
1. Go to bed at the same time. Remember the beginning
of your relationship, when you couldn't wait to go to
bed with each other to make love? Happy couples resist
the temptation to go to bed at different times. They
go to bed at the same time, even if one partner wakes
up later to do things while their partner sleeps.
2. Cultivate common interests. After the passion
settles down, it's common to realize that you have few
interests in common. But don't minimize the importance
of activities you can do together that you both enjoy.
If common interests are not present, happy couples
develop them. At the same time, be sure to cultivate
interests of your own; this will make you more
interesting to your mate and prevent you from
appearing too dependent.
3. Walk hand in hand or side by side. Rather than one
partner lagging or dragging behind the other, happy
couples walk comfortably hand in hand or side by side.
They know it's more important to be with their partner
than to see the sights along the way.
4. Make trust and forgiveness your default mode. If
and when they have a disagreement or argument, and if
they can't resolve it, happy couples default to
trusting and forgiving rather than distrusting and
begrudging.
5. Focus more on what your partner does right than
what he or she does wrong. If you look for things your
partner does wrong, you can always find something. If
you look for what he or she does right, you can always
find something, too. It all depends on what you want
to look for. Happy couples accentuate the positive.
6. Hug each other as soon as you see each other after
work. Our skin has a memory of "good touch" (loved),
"bad touch" (abused) and "no touch" (neglected).
Couples who say hello with a hug keep their skin
bathed in the "good touch," which can inoculate your
spirit against anonymity in the world.
7. Say "I love you" and "Have a good day" every
morning. This is a great way to buy some patience and
tolerance as each partner sets out each day to battle
traffic jams, long lines and other annoyances.
8. Say "Good night" every night, regardless of how you
feel. This tells your partner that, regardless of how
upset you are with him or her, you still want to be in
the relationship. It says that what you and your
partner have is bigger than any single upsetting
incident.
9. Do a "weather" check during the day. Call your
partner at home or at work to see how his or her day
is going. This is a great way to adjust expectations
so that you're more in sync when you connect after
work. For instance, if your partner is having an awful
day, it might be unreasonable to expect him or her to
be enthusiastic about something good that happened to
you.
10. Be proud to be seen with your partner. Happy
couples are pleased to be seen together and are often
in some kind of affectionate contact -- hand on hand
or hand on shoulder or knee or back of neck. They are
not showing off but rather just saying that they
belong with each other.
Even if these actions don't come naturally, happy
couples stick with them until they do become a part of
their relationship. They know that it takes 30 days
for a change in behavior to become a habit, and a
minimum of six months for a habit to become a way of
life and love.

Relationship (Putnam, 2001).

http://www.thirdage.com/news/archive...020419-02.html(10 Marriage Mistakes)
By Mark Goulston, M.D.
In life and love, you may think you're supposed to
always focus on the positive instead of the negative.
However, unless you become aware of your own hurtful
attitudes or actions -- so that you can correct them
-- your chances of staying in love 'til death do you
part are close to zero. To have your marriage last a
lifetime, avoid these 10 common mistakes:
1. Talking "at" instead of "with" your mate. Let his
or her body language be your guide. When you're
talking "at" your partner, he or she will tense up.
When you're talking "with" your spouse, he or she will
relax.
2. Tuning out -- instead of tuning in -- to what your
mate is saying. When you mind begins to wander, stop
and remember that what your partner is saying is
important to him or her.
3. Forgetting to thank your mate. Not thanking your
spouse for being considerate, thoughtful or kind makes
him or her feel unappreciated and foolish for caring
about you.
4. Getting defensive instead of saying, "I'm sorry."
When you mess up, the sooner you sincerely say, "I'm
sorry," the sooner your mate can stop resenting you.
5. Always saying, "I'm sorry," yet never changing. An
apology buys you another chance. However, if you keep
making the same mistake, apologies not only seem
empty, but annoying as well.
6. Being repeatedly late. Frequently keeping your
partner waiting is not only inconsiderate, it's
arrogant.
7. Playing the victim. This behavior not only accuses
your spouse of hurting you, but adds insult to injury
by implying that he or she is doing it intentionally,
when that may not be the case.
8. Jumping to conclusions. Presuming that you know
what your partner feels -- and why -- without first
getting all the facts is only going to push him or her
away.
9. Badmouthing your spouse behind his or her back.
This not only adds to the list of secrets you keep
from your mate, but also tells others how little you
respect your partner.
10. Thinking that doing something once is enough. If
you only temporarily stop making the above mistakes --
and don't continue to monitor yourself to keep from
slipping back into bad habits -- you're teasing your
partner with changing. You're also kidding yourself
that you're committed to improving your marriage, when
really you're not

A girl lost her favourite watch and she was very unhappy, she even fall sick
because of that.
The priest came to visit her while she was sick and asked her, "If one day
you accidentally dropped one hundred thousand dollars, would you
accidentally dropped another two hundred thousand dollars again?"
The girl replied, "Of course not."
The priest said again,"If that is the case, why did you let yourself lose
two weeks of happiness after you have lost your watch? And also went on to
let yourself lose two weeks of health?"
The girl was suddenly enlightened and jumped out of bed. She said, "You are
right. I refuse to lose more than what I did. From today onwards, I will
earn back the money I need to buy myself another watch."
Life is full of winning and losing and also full of challenges. It doesn't
matter if you lose, if you live for yourself, then that is truly LIFE.
Some people refuse to accept the truth and to start again, thus they end up
losing more and more in life and end up nothing can be done to bring back
what they lost.
If you are losing in your life now, don't continue letting yourself lose
more than what you did. Put a stop to that situation and do not be afraid to
start from scatch.

Blind Love
Blind Love
The passengers on the bus watched sympathetically as the attractive young woman with the white cane made her way carefully up the steps. She paid the driver and, using her hands to feel the location of the seats, walked down the aisle and found the seat he'd told her was empty. Then she settled in, placed her briefcase on her lap and rested her cane against her leg.
It had been a year since Susan, 34, became blind. Due to a medical misdiagnosis she had been rendered sightless, and she was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger, frustration and self-pity. And all she had to cling to was her husband, Mark.
Mark was an Army officer and he loved Susan with all his heart. When she first lost her sight, he watched her sink into despair and was determined to help his wife gain the strength and confidence she needed to become independent again.
Finally, Susan felt ready to return to her job, but how would she get there? She used to take the bus, but was now too frightened to get around the city by herself. Mark volunteered to drive her to work each day, even though they worked at opposite ends of the city.
At first, this comforted Susan, and fulfilled Mark's need to protect his sightless wife who was so insecure about performing the slightest task. Soon, however, Mark realized the arrangement
wasn't working. Susan is going to have to start taking the bus again, he admitted to himself. But she was still so fragile, so angry - how would she react?
Just as he predicted, Susan was horrified at the idea of taking the
bus again. "I'm blind!", she responded bitterly. "How am I supposed to know where I am going? I feel like you're abandoning me." Mark's heart broke to hear these words, but he knew what had to be done. He promised Susan that each morning and evening he would ride the bus with her, for as long as it took, until she got the hang of it.
And that is exactly what happened. For two solid weeks, Mark, military uniform and all, accompanied Susan to and from work each day. He taught her how to rely on her other senses, specifically her hearing, to determine where she was and how to adapt to her new environment. He helped her befriend the bus drivers who could watch out for her, and save her a seat.
Finally, Susan decided that she was ready to try the trip on her own. Monday morning arrived, and before she left, she threw her arms around Mark, her temporary bus-riding companion, her husband, and her best friend. Her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for his loyalty, his patience, and his love. She said good-bye, and for the first time, they went their separate ways.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday... Each day on her own went perfectly, and Susan had never felt better. She was doing it! She was going to work all by herself.
On Friday morning, Susan took the bus to work as usual. As she was paying the fare to exit the bus, the driver said, "Boy, I sure do envy you." Susan wasn't sure if the driver was speaking to her or not. After all, who on earth would ever envy a blind woman who had struggled just to find the courage to live for the past year?
Curious, she asked the driver, "Why do you say that you envy me?" The driver responded, "It must feel good to be taken care of and protected like you are."Susan had no idea what the driver was
talking about, and again asked, "What do you mean?" The driver answered, "You know, every morning for the past week, a fine
looking gentleman in a military uniform has been standing across the corner watching you as you get off the bus. He makes sure you cross the street safely and he watches until you enter your office building. Then he blows you a kiss, gives you a little salute and walks away. You are one lucky lady."
Tears of happiness poured down Susan's cheeks. For although she couldn't physically see him, she had always felt Mark's presence. She was lucky, so lucky, for he had given her a gift more powerful than sight, a gift she didn't need to see to believe - the gift of love that can bring light where there is darkness.

Steps To Happiness
Steps To Happiness
Everybody Knows :
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.
So :
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of *Being You*
Then :
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you'll be a most vital mortal.
Dare To Believe :
That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

Happiness is the Best Gift...
Happiness is the Best Gift...
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."
Epilogue. . . There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy.
"Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Love everyone as they are
Love everyone as they are
This story is about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend, I'd like to bring home with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know," the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mine and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden to us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this, interfere with our lives. I think you should just come on home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."
At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing
more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.
The parents in this story are not unlike many of us. We find it easy to
love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are.
Love everyone as they are!

A Sandpiper To Bring You Joy
A Sandpiper To Bring You Joy
She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live. I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world begins to close in on me. She was building a sand castle or something and looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea. "Hello," she said. I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child.
"I'm building," she said.
"I see that. What is it?" I asked, not caring.
"Oh, I don't know, I just like the feel of sand." That sounds good, I thought, and slipped off my shoes. A sandpiper glided by.
"That's a joy," the child said.
"It's a what?"
"It's a joy. My mama says sandpipers come to bring us joy." The bird went gliding down the beach.
"Good-bye joy," I muttered to myself, "hello pain," and turned to walk on. I was depressed; my life seemed completely out of balance.
"What's your name?" She wouldn't give up.
"Ruth," I answered. "I'm Ruth Peterson."
"Mine's Wendy... I'm six."
"Hi, Wendy." She giggled.
"You're funny," she said. In spite of my gloom I laughed too and walked on. Her musical giggle followed me. "Come again, Mrs. P," she called. "We'll have another happy day."
The days and weeks that followed belong to others: a group of unruly Boy Scouts, PTA meetings, and ailing mother. The sun was shining one morning as I took my hands out of the dishwater. "I need a sandpiper," I said to myself, gathering up my coat. The ever-changing balm of the seashore awaited me. The breeze was chilly, but I strode along, trying to recapture the serenity I needed. I had forgotten the child and was startled when she appeared.
"Hello, Mrs. P," she said. "Do you want to play?"
"What did you have in mind?" I asked, with a twinge of annoyance.
"I don't know, you say."
"How about charades?" I asked sarcastically. The tinkling laughter burst forth again.
"I don't know what that is."
"Then let's just walk." Looking at her, I noticed the delicate fairness of her face. "Where do you live?" I asked.
"Over there." She pointed toward a row of summer cottages. Strange, I thought, in winter.
"Where do you go to school?"
"I don't go to school. Mommy says we're on vacation." She chattered little girl talk as we strolled up the beach, but my mind was on other things. When I left for home, Wendy said it had been a happy day. Feeling surprisingly better, I smiled at her and agreed.
Three weeks later, I rushed to my beach in a state of near panic. I was in no mood to even greet Wendy. I thought I saw her mother on the porch and felt like demanding she keep her child at home. "Look, if you don't mind," I said crossly when Wendy caught up with me, "I'd rather be alone today." She seems unusually pale and out of breath.
"Why?" she asked.
I turned to her and shouted, "Because my mother died!" and thought, my, why was I saying this to a little child?
"Oh," she said quietly, "then this is a bad day."
"Yes," I said, "and yesterday and the day before and-oh, go away!"
"Did it hurt? " she inquired.
"Did what hurt?" I was exasperated with her, with myself.
"When she died?"
"Of course it hurt!!!!" I snapped, misunderstanding, wrapped up in myself. I strode off.
A month or so after that, when I next went to the beach, she wasn't there. Feeling guilty, ashamed and admitting to myself I missed her, I went up to the cottage after my walk and knocked at the door. A drawn looking young woman with honey-colored hair opened the door. "Hello," I said. "I'm Ruth Peterson. I missed your little girl today and wondered where she was."
"Oh yes, Mrs. Peterson, please come in. Wendy spoke of you so much. I'm afraid I allowed her to bother you. If she was a nuisance, please, accept my apologies."
"Not at all-she's a delightful child," I said, suddenly realizing that I meant it. "Where is she?"
"Wendy died last week, Mrs. Peterson. She had leukemia. Maybe she didn't tell you." Struck dumb, I groped for a chair. My breath caught. "She loved this beach; so when she asked to come, we couldn't say no. She seemed so much better here and had a lot of what she called happy days. But the last few weeks, she declined rapidly..." her voice faltered. "She left something for you ... if only I can find it. Could you wait a moment while I look?" I nodded stupidly, my mind racing for something, anything, to say to this lovely young woman. She handed me a smeared envelope, with MRS. P printed in bold, childish letters.
Inside was a drawing in bright crayon hues-a yellow beach, a blue sea, and a brown bird. Underneath was carefully printed: A SANDPIPER TO BRING YOU JOY. Tears welled up in my eyes, and a heart that had almost forgotten to love opened wide. I took Wendy's mother in my arms. "I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," I muttered over and over, and we wept together. The precious little picture is framed now and hangs in my study. Six words -one for each year of her life - that speak to me of harmony, courage, undemanding love. A gift from a child with sea-blue eyes and hair the color of sand --who taught me the gift of love.
NOTE: The above is a true story sent out by Ruth Peterson. It serves as a reminder to all of us that we need to take time to enjoy living and life and each other. Life is so complicated, the hustle and bustle of everyday traumas, can make us lose focus about what is truly important or what is only a monetary setback or crisis. This weekend, be sure to give your love ones an extra hugs, and by all means, take a moment ... even if it is only ten seconds, and stop and smell the roses. "The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less." "We love, because HE first loved us."

The Burden
The Burden
"Why was my burden so heavy?" I slammed the office door and leaned against it. Is there no rest from this life? I wondered. I stumbled to my desk and dropped into my chair, pressing my face into my arms to shut out the frustrations of my existence.
"Oh God," I cried, "let me sleep. Let me sleep forever and never wake up!" With a deep sob I tried to will myself into oblivion, then welcomed the blackness that came over me.
Light surrounded me as I regained consciousness. I focused on its source: The figure of a man standing before a cross. "My child," the person asked, "why did you want to come to me before I am ready to call you?"
"Lord, I'm sorry. It's just that... I can't go on. You see how hard it is for me. Look at this awful burden on my back. I simply can't carry it anymore."
"But haven't I told you to cast all of your burdens upon me, because I care for you? My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."
"I knew you would say that. But why does mine have to be so heavy?"
"My child, everyone in the world has a burden. Perhaps you would like to try a different one?"
"I can do that?"
He pointed to several burdens lying at His feet. "You may try any of these."
All of them seemed to be of equal size. But each was labeled with a name."There's Joan's," I said. Joan was married to a wealthy businessman. She lived in a sprawling estate and dressed her three daughters in the prettiest designer clothes. Sometimes she drove me to church in her Cadillac when my car was broken.
"Let me try that one." How difficult could her burden be? I thought. The Lord removed my burden and placed Joan's on my shoulders. I sank my knees beneath its weight.
"Take it off!" I said. "What makes it so heavy?"
"Look inside."
I untied the straps and opened the top. Inside was a figure of her Mother-in-law, and when I lifted it out, it began to speak. "Joan, you'll never be good enough for my son," it began. "He never should have married you. You're a terrible mother to my grandchildren..."
I quickly placed the figure back in the pack and withdrew another. It was Donna, Joan's youngest daughter. Her head was bandaged from the surgery that had failed to resolve her epilepsy. A third figure was Joan's brother. Addicted to drugs, he had been convicted of killing a police officer.
"I see why her burden is so heavy, Lord. But she's always smiling and helping others. I didn't realize...."
"Would you like to try another?" He asked quietly.
I tested several. Paula's felt heavy: She was raising four small boys without a father. Debra's did too: A childhood of sexual abuse and a marriage of emotional abuse. When I Came to Ruth's burden, I didn't even try. I knew that inside I would find arthritis, old age, a demanding full-time job, and a beloved husband in a nursing home.
"They're all too heavy, Lord," I said." "Give me back my own."
As I lifted the familiar load once again, It seemed much lighter than the others did.
"Let's look inside" He said.
I turned away, holding it close. "That's not a good idea," I said.
"Why?"
"There's a lot of junk in there."
"Let Me see."
His gentle voice compelled me. I opened my burden. He pulled out a brick. "Tell me about this one."
"Lord, You know. It's money. I know we don't suffer like people in some countries or even the homeless here in America. But we have no insurance, and when the kids get sick, we can't always take them to the doctor. They've never been to a dentist. And I'm tired of dressing them in hand-me-downs."
"My child, I will supply all of your needs... and your children's. I've given them healthy bodies. I will teach them that expensive clothing doesn't make a person valuable in my sight." Then he lifted out the figure of a small boy. "And this?" He asked.
"Andrew..." I hung my head, ashamed to call my son a burden. "But, Lord, he's hyperactive. He's not quiet like the other two. He makes me so tired. He's always getting hurt, and someone is bound to think I abuse him. I yell at him all the time. Someday I may really hurt him...."
"My child," He said, "If you trust Me, I will renew your strength, if you allow Me to fill you with My Spirit, I will give you patience."
Then He took some pebbles from my burden.
"Yes, Lord," I said with a sigh. "Those are small. But they're important. I hate my hair. It's thin, and I can't make it look nice. I can't afford to go to the beauty shop. I'm overweight and can't stay on a diet. I hate all my clothes. I hate the way I look!"
"My child, people look at your outward appearance, but I look at your heart. By My Spirit you can gain self-control to lose weight. But your beauty should not come from outward appearance. Instead, it should come from your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in my sight."
My burden now seemed lighter than before. "I guess I can handle it now," I said.
"There is more," He said. "Hand Me that last brick."
"Oh, You don't have to take that. I can handle it."
"My child, give it to me." Again His voice compelled me. He reached out His hand, and for the first time I saw the ugly wound.
"But, Lord, this brick is so awful, so nasty, so...Lord! What happened to your hands? They're so scarred!"
No longer focused on my burden, I looked for the first time into His face. In His brow were ragged scars-as though someone had pressed thorns into His flesh. "Lord," I whispered. "What happened to you?"
His loving eyes reached into my soul. "My child, you know. Hand me the brick. It belongs to me. I bought it."
"How?"
"With My blood."
"But why, lord?"
"Because I have loved you with an everlasting love. Give the last brick to me."
I placed the filthy brick into His wounded palm. It contained the entire dirt and evil of my life: my pride, my selfishness, and the depression that constantly tormented me.He turned to the cross and hurled my brick into the pool of blood at its base. It hardly made a ripple.
"Now, My child, you need to go back. I will be with you always. When you are troubled, call to me and I will help you and show you things you cannot imagine now."
"Yes, Lord, I will call on you." I reached to pick up my burden.
"You may leave that here if you wish. You see all these burdens? They are the ones that others have left at my feet. Joan's, Paula's, Debra's, Ruth' s... When you leave your burden here, I carry it with you. Remember, My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
As I placed my burden with Him, the light began to fade. Yet I heard Him whisper, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."
A peace flooded my soul.

Meaningful story..
Meaningful story..
One day in a poor country town thousands of miles away from the nearest
city, years n eras ago. A rat looked through a crack in the wall to see a
farmer and his wife opening a package. What food might it contain?
The rat was shocked to discover that it was a rat trap. Retreating to the
farmyard, the rat announced of the imminent risk, "There is a rat trap in
the house, a rat trap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched,
raised her head and said, Excuse me, Mr. Rat, I can tell this is a grave
concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by
it, not my problem". The rat turned to the pig and told him, "There is a
rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!" "I am so very sorry Mr.Rat,"
sympathized the pig, "but there is nothing I can do about it but pray.
Be assured that you are in my prayers." The rat turned to the cow. ! She
said, "Like wow, Mr. Rat. A rat trap. I am in grave danger. Duh? im the biggest
here, do i look like i'll b trapped in one?" So the rat returned to the
house, heads down and felt rejected, & now need to face the farmer's rat
trap alone.
That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a
rat trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was
caught.
In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail
the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer couldnt rush
her to the hospital as the town had no transportation & that the nearest
hospital is a few days' travel. She returned home with a fever.
Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer
took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. His
wife's sickness continued therefore friends and neighbors came to sit with her
around the clock. To fe! ed them the farmer butchered the pig.
The farmer's wife still did not get well. She died eventually & villagers
came to her funeral & now the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide
meat for all who came.
Moral to the story: The next time you hear that someone is facing a problem
and think that it does not concerns you, remember that when there is a rat
trap in the house, the whole farmyard is at risk.
If you're not part of a problem, You're part of a solution.

Feelings...
Feelings...
Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived; Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others, including Love.
One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave. Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under Love decided
it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat.
Love asked, "Richness, can I come with you on your boat?"
Richness answered, " I'm sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere."
Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out,
"Vanity, help me please."
"I can't help you," Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."
Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said,
“Sadness, please let me go with you."
Sadness answered, Love, I'm sorry, but I just need to be alone now."
Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out,
"Happiness, please take me with you."
But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didn't hear Love calling to him.
Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say,
"Come Love, I will take you with me."
It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name.
When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder. Love then found Knowledge and asked,
"Who was it that helped me?"
"It was Time," Knowledge answered.
"But why did Time help me when no one else would?" Love asked.
Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered,
"Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."

Nice story
Nice story
A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the apple of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open.
He was late for work so he asked the wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. The mother, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter.
The boy playfully went to the medicine bottle and, fascinated with its color, drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages.
When the child showed signs of poisoning the mother took him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband. When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just four words.
QUESTIONS :
1. What were the four words ?
2. What is the implication of this story ?
Read on only after you have tried to come up with your own.
ANSWER : The husband just said "I Love You Darling" .
The husband's totally unexpected reaction is proactive behavior. He is indeed a genius in human relationships. The child is dead. He an never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.
If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world.
Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness, and fears AND you will find things are actually not so difficult as you think."

A Story That Would Warm Your Heart...
A Story That Would Warm Your Heart...
Her Name Was Mrs. Thompson
As she stood in front of her 5th grade class on the very first day of school, she told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her students and said that she loved them all the same. But that was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in his seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.
Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed that he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy could be unpleasant. It got to the point where Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting a big "F" at the top of his papers.
At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's past records and she put Teddy's off until last. However, when she reviewed his file, she was in for a surprise.
Teddy's first grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners...he is a joy to be around."
His second grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student, well liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."
His third grade teacher wrote, "His mother's death had been hard on him.
He tries to do his best, but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."
Teddy's fourth grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and he sometimes sleeps in class".
By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons and bright paper, except for Teddy's. His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper
that he got from a grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one quarter full of perfume. But she stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume on her wrist.
Teddy Stoddard stayed after school that day just long enough to say,"Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my Mom used to." After the children left she cried for at least an hour. On that very day, she quit teaching reading, and writing, and arithmetic. Instead, she began to teach
children.
Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy. As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest children in the class and, despite her lie that she would love all the children the same, Teddy became one of her "teacher's pets."
A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling her that she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still the best teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now his name was a little longer -- the letter was
signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, MD.
The story doesn't end there. You see, there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he'd met this girl and was going to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit in the place at the wedding that was usually reserved for the mother of the groom. Of course, Mrs. Thompson did.
And guess what? She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. And she made sure she was wearing the perfume that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last Christmas together.
They hugged each other, and Dr. Stoddard whispered in Mrs.Thompson's ear, "Thank you Mrs. Thompson for believing in me. Thank you so much for making me feel important and showing me that I could make a difference."
Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back. She said, "Teddy, you have it all wrong. You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference. I didn't know how to teach until I met you."
Please remember that wherever you go, and whatever you do, you will have the opportunity to touch and/or change a person's outlook. Please try to do it in a positive way.
"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings stop remembering how to fly."

MeaningFul ~ Learn 2 accept him/her d way he/she is!!!
A man and his girlfriend were married. It was a large celebration. All of their friends and family came to see the lovely ceremony and to partake of the festivities and celebrations. A wonderful time was had by all.
The bride was gorgeous in her white wedding gown and the groom was very dashing in his black tuxedo. Everyone could tell that the love they had for each other was true.
A few months later, the wife comes to the husband with a proposal:
I read in a magazine, a while ago, about how we can strengthen our marriage." she offered. "Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together and make our lives happier together." The husband agreed. So each of them went to a separate room in the house and thought of the things that annoyed them about the other. They thought about this question for the rest of the day and wrote down what they came up with.
The next morning, at the breakfast table, they decided that they would go over their lists.
"I'll start," offered the wife. She took out her list. It had many items on it. Enough to fill 3 pages, in fact. As she started reading the list of the little annoyances, she noticed that tears were starting to appear in her husband's eyes.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing" the husband replied, "keep reading your list."
The wife continued to read until she had read all three pages to her husband. She neatly placed her list on the table and folded her hands over top of it. "Now, you read your list and then we'll talk about the things on both of our lists." She said happily.
Quietly the husband stated, "I don't have anything on my list. I think that you are perfect the way that you are. I don't want you to change anything for me. You are lovely and wonderful and I wouldn't want to try and change anything about you."
The wife, touched by his honesty and the depth of his love for her and his acceptance of her, turned her head and wept.
In life, there are enough times when we are disappointed, depressed and annoyed. We don't really have to go looking for them. We have a wonderful world that is full of beauty, light and promise. Why waste time in this world looking for the bad, disappointing or annoying when we can look around us, and see the wondrous things before us? I believe that we are happiest when we see and praise the good and try our best to forget the bad.

This will make you cry....
Jenny was so happy about the house they had found.
For once in her life it was on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze.
How wonderful it was to have her own room.
School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy. It's just the way she wanted her life to be.
On the first day of school, everything went great.
She made new friends and even got a date!
She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!"
To be known in this school you had to have a clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out.
There was only one problem stopping her fate.
Her parents had said she was too young to date.
"Well, I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?"
Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night.
Her parents frowned but said, "All right." Excited, she got ready for the big event. But as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies, But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride?
Well the pizza was good, and the party was great, But the moonlight ride would have to wait.
For Jeff was half drunk by this time.
She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble, And heard, call an ambulance!
These kids are in trouble!
Voices she heard...a few words at best.
But she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck. Then wondered to herself if Jeff was all right, And if the people in the other car was alive.
She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad.
"You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad."
These voices echoed inside her head, As they gently told her that Jeff was dead.
They said "Jenny, we've done all we can do. But it looks as if we'll lose you too."
"But the people in the other car!?" Jenny cried.
"We're sorry, Jenny, they also died."
Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done. I only wanted to have just one night of fun. Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim, And wish I could return their families to them."
"Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry I lied, And that it's my fault so many have died. Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?"
The nurse just stood there-she never agreed. But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes.
And a few moments later Jenny died.
A man asked the nurse,
"Why didn't you do your best? To bid that girl her one last request?"
She looked at the man with eyes so sad.
"Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad."
This story is sad and unpleasant but true, So young people take heed, it could have been you.

Time heals ?
Time heals ?
Time heals though it might hurt.
Scars abound, right in your heart.
Cherish the feelings, cherish the time.
Losing the moments, faded in time.
Flowers may wither, humans may die.
The love we once bore, has faded like dye.
Memories' floating. Just in your mind.
You can't stop thinking. As you're no longer mine.
