A Different Love
There have been many things that I have loved in my life,
But none of them compare to you,
Yours is a different love,
Not like the love of family and friends,
It's the kind of love that makes me do things,
Things I wouldn't normally do.
It's the kind of love that makes you fight,
The kind of love that makes me cry,
The kind that makes me hurt,
The kind that makes me endure,
The kind of love that makes me feel,
If it leaves I'll die.
Until now I have never loved to the point of sacrifice,
Never has it meant so much,
Never has it run so deep,
Never has it reached so far,
Never have I been so,
Elated by it's touch.
Your love is completely foreign,
To the norms of my existence,
It looks different,
It acts different,
It finds it's way around,
My every act of resistance.
But your love makes me a better person,
You make me want to do the right thing,
You keep me inspired,
You keep me invigorated,
You make me feel honored,
To wear this ring.
